Foolish Cross

Date: Mar. 4, 2018

Author: Dan Bockenfeld

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
-1 Corinthians 1:18

Have you ever felt that believing in Jesus is a foolish thing. How can a man bring peace and salvation? This Easter, come find out how the foolish cross is the power of God.

This year, Easter Sunday falls on April 1st or, as it is also known as, April Fool’s Day. Since these two days coincide, we will be having an Easter event that goes into the foolishness of the cross.

The apostle Paul, who was arguably the most connected man to God, wrote, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18) To those who don’t believe in Jesus, it seems like a foolish thing to believe in Jesus, but once you experience the power of God, you realize that is just what the cross is - the power of God.
